Killing Time - Horror E-Rag™: Previews

Issue 3-1

1) Letter from the Editor

This is the first issue of the newest year. As I announced at the end of the last issue the E-Rag has become a paid subscription publication. If you are receiving this and have not paid for it then you are one of lucky Unlifetime Members. That means from here until the day I stop producing this publication you will receive it when it becomes available.

2) Artefact

Fluttering in the cold gale,
Dancing with foot planted,
Curled upon myself.

All alone,
By no one's choice.
A remainder.
A reminder.

3) Ghostly Illumination #1

In June of 1949 a movie world-shaking event occurred, the birth of Robert Englund. He grew up to become a classically trained actor who was doing such works as by Chekhov, a renowned Russian author and playwright whose works have invariably been translated into English.

4) Inhibitor

Richard walked across the polished marble floor ignoring his reflection in the lustrous surface. Though the floor made his stomach look massive it wasn't too hard a thing to ignore. The arched windows high up in the light brown, stone walls let in only a sombre light that cast the ground level of the rotunda in weak shadows.

5) Look In Any Window

Warning: May be unsuitable for some readers. This story contains mature subject matter, disturbing situations, and coarse language. Reader Discretion is Advised.

The first time it happened she watched without the import sinking in. Then she screamed, loud as she could. Her roommates rushed in. And he disappeared off into the night. Next time, days later she watched, the import slowly getting to her a stage at a time. Then she screamed. Her roommates rushed in. And he disappeared off into the night.

6) Review: Book of Shadows: Blair Witch Project 2

Book of Shadows is a sequel to the Blair Witch Project that takes place in the real world, as in where Blair Witch is a movie that played in theatres. A group of people go on a guided tour of the places where the film was made around Burkittsville. They take a bunch of cameras and tape everything they do. While they are out in the woods something weird happens and...

7) Review: The Chosen Child

Sarah Leonard is trying to build a new Senate Hotel in Warsaw, Poland. For all that she is known as the "Ayatollah", and other names like "ball-breaker", she cannot get the work to go forward. A man has been found beheaded inside a broken sewer pipe at the site. The man is the seventh victim of the serial killer dubbed "The Executioner".

8) PSY3007 Act #7

Ben's mother said, "He's been running himself ragged on some kind of school project. I told him to pace himself. I guess maybe he wasn't. Certainly he wasn't prepared to come home and find the house on fire."

His father asked, "But why did he faint after he heard nothing was harmed except for that flooring in the attic?"

9) Sommatoria #1

This issue we have delved into some very different areas of horror. We have been party to things that many others will never fathom. It is an experience that is personal to each of us, private to our darkest heart. There are strings of commonality we may all share, though. Now is the time to think about it as a whole; one solid, cohesive unit. It is time for the Sommatoria.

10) Bonus: Perspectives at Dawn

The first thing that happened was it went dark. Well, it would have gone dark if it had not been in the middle of the afternoon. It was insidious the way things fell together. I'd have bet my left nut that they planned it that way. It wasn't too hot or too cold, outside or inside. It was the perfect kind of weather. That weather was to hold for the rest of the seven-day forecast. Everyone went...
